Chickadee-dee-dee

That time Franklyn gave a slide presentation on chickadees we each did a painting of different varieties! Here is a black-capped chickadee and I absolutely love the flare of wings and intent gaze. These birds are brilliant, often creating thousands of caches in preparation for winter.

Did you know that the number of dee's in their song typically correlates to the level of perceived threat? When we first moved into the homestead we were 5-dees. A few years later it's rare that we even clock at three.
