Kitchen Companion
Friendly neighborhood spider doing murder
$800.00
For two years this spider kept company above the kitchen sink in the window where the sun sets over the swamp each evening. We chatted nearly every day and she had three broods in that time. Her spot was a magnet for insects who made their way into the house, and one day I was lucky enough to be shown how she hunts yellow jackets. I watched as she tracked and hunted before leaping to battle... a struggle that lasted several minutes before she had her snack wrapped up. She has since passed on and this piece memorializes our coexistence and that fleeting relationship.
